Kimi no Na Wa or Your Name, a movie that shocked everyone, back in 2016. Even I'm shocked because this movie comes out of nowhere from unknown director and unknown studio. I'm intrigued why everyone fall in love with this film and I take the opportunity to watch it, and that's one of the best choice I've ever made. From the moment it starts until the end, I never yawn even once, just keep falling in love with most things in this movie. In this movie, Taki Tachibana and Mitsuha Miyamizu fateful adventures begin when Mitsuha, a yearns to live the life of a handsome boy in the bustling city of Tokyo-a dream that stands in stark contrast to her present life in the countryside. One day, Mitsuha awakens in a room that is not her own and finds herself living her dream life in Tokyo-but in Taki's body. At the same time, Taki finds himself living Mitsuha's life in the countryside. In pursuit of an answer to this strange phenomenon, they begin to search for one another. This is the story how Taki and Mitsuha's action have dramatic impact on each other's life, weaving them into a fabric held together by fate and circumstance.

For Kimi no Na Wa, the plot is seems cliche for most people because the switch-body between characters have been using for many times in the past. But, Kimi no Na Wa breath new life into it by making that miracle have a bigger purpose rather than just for laugh materials. That's what made Kimi no Na Wa different from other movies out there. It has a few plot twists that make the show more engaging and amusing. The movie is also succeed in captivating the audiences from the first minute of the movie. It doesn't have aby fillers at all. It always give important clues about the mystery that happened in their lives. I love that the mystery in this movie is kind of related to the beliefs of Japanese. It shows that the director appreciate their tradition and he combine it with modern world, it sync perfectly. I also want to mention that this is a movie that you can really enjoy while at the same time learn Japanese traditions. Not to mention, there are lot of emotional moments from the movie, and please prepare your tissue. So, for the plot, I  will rate 8.5 out of 10.

The next part in my review, the characters in Kimi no Na Wa. In this movie, it is obvious that the plot mainly focus on two main characters, Taki and Mitsuha. Other side characters like Okudera and Teshigawara didn't have bigger roles other than being friends with them. That's fine because in a movie less than 2 hours, it is quite difficult to make most characters stand out, so they choose a safer path by just focusing on two characters. Compared to A silent voice where we can see character development's occur, in Kimi no Na Wa even main chaacters doesn't have much of it. From the start until the end of the film, their characteristics mostly stay the same. Their depiction of young teenagers are really accurate. There are several moments in the movie where it really highlights the teenagers' behaviour when facing something unnatural. For instance, Taki's reaction when he is in Mitsuha's body is absolutely accurate from the point of view of a boy. Overall, I will score the characters in this movie 8.5 out of 10.

The animation of Kimi no Na Wa is undeniably amazing. The studio behind this amazing works is CoMix Wave Films. For a quite unknown studio to produce something like this, to be honest, it is astonishing. They really are closing in to Kyoto Animation and Ufotable in terms of animation. However, there are still several weakness such as their characters' design is still simple compare to KyoAni. It doesn't mean that CoMix Wave lacks in every aspect of  animation. In terms of surrounding and environment like nature, it is so beautiful eye-catching. Audiences can even see water splash clearly when the characters are running in several scenes. It's made with so much detail and precision. Not to mention, one of the best moments in the movie where the animation is utilized the most is the meteor in the sky. The animation makes the meteor looks so beautiful and fantastic. If you compare the meteor in this movie and other anime like One Punch Man, there is a significant difference. The meteor in One Punch Man looks dangerous while the meteor in Kimi no Na Wa is the opposite, it is wonderful and stunning. To conclude, I will give 9 out of 10 for the show in terms of animation.

Lastly, the music and sound in the movie. RADWIMPS is the band behind most of the songs in Kimi no Na Wa. They absolutely nailed it. All of the soundtracks by them are just purely amazing. There are four songs in total, the opening song, "Yume Tourou", "Zenzenzense","Sparkle" and the ending song "Nandemonaiya". For me, all of the soundtracks are existed just for this movie. It can't be another movie, it need to be this one. The songs perfectly synchronized with every scenes. It really helps in building the mood for viewers. Without the movie, the songs are still good but they kind of lose a bit touch of 'magic'. Kudos to the studio for succeeding in choosing the right band to produce songs for their movie. Because of this, RADWIMPS may be able to produce songs for their movie again in the future. To sum up, RADWIMPS has done a marvelous job in this movie and for that, I will gladly score 9 out of 10.

By the time movie ends, I felt something lost in my heart. Actually, it is the desire to watch amazing movies like this. It's been so long since the last time I've watch a good anime movie. In the past, most of anime movies that I watch are spin-off from anime series like One Piece, Naruto and Dragon Ball. So, to be able to watch a stunning original anime movie, it makes me crave for more movies like this. This movie kinds of remind everyone about the movies that have been made by Hayao Miyazaki, a legendary director of anime. Most of his movies are fantasy-themed and supernatural abilities, similar with Kimi no Na Wa where the main characters have supernatural ability. However, Makoto Shinkai, the director of kimi no Na Wa manage to distinct his movies and Hayao Miyazaki's by making the characters more relatable to the audiences. Overall, I will rate this movie 9 out of 10. That's all, thank you for reading.
