One Piece, one of the most popular anime in the world. If you never heard of it, you might be living in the Amazon's Jungle. This is an anime that needs no introduction. It has millions of fans around the world that never stopped loving it for more than 20 years. To be able to stay relevant for that long period shows that this is not a  generic or mediocre show. Not to mention, this is one of the pioneer to the modern shonen anime like Fire Force and My Hero Academia. Their story starts when a boy named Monkey D. Luffy set out to the sea to become the pirate king and prove that he is a stronger pirate than his idol, Shanks. He swore that he will gather a crew that stronger than Shanks' and return the straw hat that was lend to him by Shanks. But, unbeknown to him that his adventure may becomes more than what he desires at the first place as he will travel to the end of the world to find One Piece and becomes the pirate king.

One Piece is the kind of anime which the plot gets better by episodes. The more you watch, the more you realize this is not a generic shounen. There is a big mystery behind everything that happened in the course of the show. Everything is related to one another, there is no coincidence. Viewers that just watch One Piece just to have fun will not notice clues left by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece creator. Maybe the clues will highlights what will happen in the next 200 episodes. That's how far Eiichiro Oda think. The world itself seems like a miniature of the real world for me. For example, The World Government  that rules the world through Marine and CP0, looks like the good guy on the surface, but they have their own dark secrets that they don't want to share with the whole world and will kill anyone that tried to reveal it. On the other hand, the pirates by default is the bad guy, but maybe they are not as bad as we thought. Most of the issues that happen in the One Piece world also correspond to what happened in the real world such as discrimination, slavery, civil war, and corrupt government. As for the plot in One Piece, I will rate 9 out of 10.

In terms of characters, One Piece has variety of characters from variety of backgrounds. Every character have their own motive and purpose in life. This is the main difference between Naruto and One Piece. Most of characters in Naruto especially side characters sadly don't have any specific purposes in life like main characters. On the other hand, even side characters that appear shortly in anime like Princess Vivi has an ambition to make her country great again. Moreover, even main characters in One Piece is completely distinct compared to Naruto and Dragon Ball. Most of main protagonist's friends doesn't have any objective in life other than helping hero to achieve his dream. Unlike in One Piece, every crewmates in Straw Hat have their own dream. For example, Zoro wanted to be the strongest swordsman in the world by defeating Dracule Mihawk and Nami had the desire to draw the map of the world. The best part is that the side characters in One Piece never been abandoned as they have their own importance in the series. For instance, everyone thought Princess Shirahoshi is just a princess in the Fish-man Island, but at the end of the arc, everyone realized she is more than just a princess as she hold a big secret that could shock the world. To sum up, I will score the characters in One Piece as magnificent 10 out of 10.

The only weakness of One Piece would be the animation. The show is produced by Toei Animation, the same studio that produce Dragon Ball series and Digimon Adventure. Of course, to deliver high quality animation for every episode in every week is nearly impossible. But, they still managed to maintain a good animation for the time being. Furthermore, I can clearly see that they are improving their animation slowly over the years. Right now, in Wano Arc, their animation is at its best. Fans are going wild over their new style of animation. It's clean, beautiful and truly amazing. Additionally, the characters' design also change throughout the history of the anime. At the early of the series, the characters are drawn a bit skinny but as the series progress, the characters are drawn bulkier and more attractive. In cases of fights between characters. there are several fight scenes that really animated well and succeed in hyping the audiences. That would be the fights between Luffy and Rob Lucci and Zoro versus Kuma. Even though the fight between Zoro and Kuma is just a short one, but  believed me, there are so many boys that cried at the end of the fight. So, I will give 8.5 out of 10 for the animation in One Piece.

The last in this review, the music and sound of One Piece. For an anime that lasts for 20 years, of course there would be a lot of great soundtracks along the way. Personally, the best opening would be "We Are" by Hiroshi Kitadani and "Fight Together" by Namie Amuro. Both of it represent the opposite themes. "We Are" represent the happiness of the crew as they go to sail around the world to find what they want the most in life while "Fight Together" describing the sadness of someone when losing their loved ones. Audiences' emotion surely are on roller coaster while listening to these songs. In case of ending song, "Memories" by Maki Otsuki surely sits at the top without much challenges from other songs. It has peaceful melody, synchronize with the sunset theme in the background. It also highlights the life of Luffy from being alone until one by one of his friends are joining him. To simplify, I will score 8.5 out of 10 for the music and sound of One Piece.

In a nutshell, One Piece is a kind of anime that how much people hate it, they can never forget the anime's contribution and its influence to the world. Surely, this is not a perfect anime when you consider there are too much fillers and sometimes the pace of plot is too slow. But, I knew that most of anime fans get acquainted with anime through One Piece. For most people, One Piece is their first anime and that's why I said they will never forget One Piece's influence in their life. Right now, One Piece is nearly at the end and by the time One Piece end, the world of anime will never be the same. Anime will lose one of its biggest ambassador to the world. But at the end of the day, everything must comes to the end. Let's just hope that the ending of One Piece will be the best ending ever in the history of anime. Overall, I will rate One Piece as 9 out of 10.

That's all from me,
thank you for reading,
Last words,
